Accenture launches #Smartleaders, an internal communications innovation
# Smartleaders: A portal to systematically relay information by category and topic to top Accenture managers and decision makers
It is often difficult to ensure consistent communication within a company. Accenture found that many employees at the managerial level did not always consistently engage in effective dissemination of internal information. Internal communication has been therefore redesigned with the primary objective of organizing, easing, and simplifying the internal information transfer process within the managerial division.
New innovative measures have been taken to ensure that managers easily and quickly access all the information they need. Indeed, the project has been fully adapted to top managers’ workflow rhythms, with displays of reading time for each item, color codes by category …. In this same logic, the platform generates newsletters, which are sent to managers every Friday to keep them informed on new developments, keeping in mind #TTSO (Time to Sign Off).
« An editorial line focused on strategic and global news, with diverse topics such as the internal news group, profiles of Accenture leaders, the objectives of the group, world economic news, top picks, meetings of the president of the French headquarters … all to be transmitted to the managing directors of the company » –Adeline Danlos, head of internal communications.
Substantive issues are treated through a full motion video format to better capture attention, convey messages more effectively, and make the content easier to recall (as well as reducing time necessary to consume content as available time is often limited). From video, two other formats are extracted and also included in the news format: infographics and documents in full pdf format.
